Marrakech is a year round holiday destination, just three hours from Northern Europe it has a mild winter and and a dry hot summer. The peak seasons are spring particularly around Easter and Autumn particularly the October half term.
The Magical city of Marrakech offers endless souks, magnificent monuments and the incomporable Jema al fnaa square. Within a days drive there are a variety of excursions avaiable, to the seaside at Essaouira, into the Atlas mountains or to the edge of the dessert at Ourzazate.
Our Marrakech Riads offer the perfect base for your Moroccan adventure.
Some of the longest established fine dining restaurants in the Medina are located near to our Marrakech Riads in the heart of the Medina. We are delighted that there are also an increasing selection of Cafes in which to hang out and relax. Newly opened in the spring of 2010 Marrakech Korner is a pleasant and inexpensive daytime eatery located on the Bab Doukala street between Dar El Bashah and the Bab Doukala Mosque. There is a small dining room on the ground floor as well as a larger space upstairs accessed from the street and a shaded roof terrace.
A variety of teas, sodas and juices are on offer with food freshly made to order. We particularly like the home made soups and have found the staff to be unfailingly attentive and polite. A drink and light meal here will cost less than ten euros.
Marrakech Corner has been closed during July and August 2011, we hope it will reopen for the Autumn season
The Cafe Ben Youssef, Marrakech, Morocco opened in February 2010. Pictured to the right is the traditonal gift of warm milk and dates shared with friends and neighbours on the day of the opening. Look out for the colourful and impressive reclaimed entrance door.
The cafe is conveniently located near the Ben Youssef Mosque in the Central Medina just around the corner from Marrakech Riad Cinnamon. The cafe is open for lunch and throughout the afternoon serving tea, juices, and a variety of delicious simple foods including an ingenious ‘panini’ made with Marrakech medina bread and served hot from the grill.
As of June 2011 the Cafe was closed, we hope to see it reopen for the Autumn season.
