D.sens is truly a hidden gem. Off the tourists trail and as yet undiscovered by the expat community, it did not have a single consumer review on a travel website until March 2012. This is in essence a stylish modern venue conceived by Moroccans for Moroccans, and there is no better place in Marrakech to find confident young North Africa at play.
There is a ‘fashion bar’ with opulent decoration, mood lighting and ‘fashion tv’ with a constant diet of catwalk models. The service is discreet and attentive and prices comparable to fashionable European cities.
Adjacent is the restaurant with views over the rooftops of the New town of Guiliez. The food is truly stunning and beautifully presented, fine dining in a French tradition but with a North African twist to the menu.
D.sens is located near to Marrakech Plaza on the top floor of a tall building on the South East corner of the Place de la Liberte. It is entered via a private elevator off the street. Unusually for Marrakech there is a strictly enforced dress code. The locals tend to eat late and not to dwell over their food although the mood is very relaxed and the service not at all rushed so leisurely European style dining is absolutely possible. Above all D.sens is a place to see and be seen!
As always your Marrakech Riad staff will be pleased to help you reserve a table.
