Lucie Wood one of the owners of Marrakech Riad is vegetarian. In fact she is a third generation vegetarian following both her mother and grandmother.
If you are visiting Marrakech stay in one of our Magical Riads, Riad Papillon and Riad Cinnamon in the heart of the ancient Medina. You can be sure that you will eat wonderful vegetarian and vegan food. Lucie’s favourites for dinner are vegetable pastilla (Moroccoan stuffed filo pastry parcel) and the classic seven vegetable cous cous. Don’t miss the cheese and vegetable browattes (delicious finger food almost like a spring roll) and a huge variety of fresh salads made from seasonal vegetables.
The kitchen shops and cooks for individually each guest (ideally menus are discussed a day in advance). Special dietary requirements such as gluten free are easily catered for and the Riad also offers a variety of traditional Moroccan dishes using fish and meat. Don’t delay reserve accommodation today!
La Table de Mona is in the Marrakech new town of Gueliz. Located about a hundred metres from the landmark Cafe La Flame (ask any taxi to drop you facing La Flame and walk to your right).
Mona offers an extensive menu of authentic Lebanese dishes, all freshly made by the dedicated chef and her team, many involving hours of intricate preparation. Outstanding value for money and a particularly good option for vegetarians visiting Marrakech. In the summer ask to sit outside in the charming little pavement garden.
Our Marrakech Riad staff will be pleased to make a reservation for you at La Table to Mona. Our riads offer you a personal oasis from which to explore Marrakech, old and new!
The Earth Cafe is the the only western style vegetarian restaurant in Marrakech and the food is truly outstanding as well as great value for money with main dishes from 60 dirhams. The extensive menu caters also for vegans and is regularly updated featuring fresh produce from the owners organic farm near to Marrakech. The juices are also fantastic, last time we visited our group of nine tried five different seasonal juices and they were all excellent.
The Earth Cafe can be tricky to find the first time you visit. It is located to the South East of the Jemaa al Fnaa square accessed via the well know street ‘Zitoun Kedim’. Look out for signs hanging over the street advertising Earth Cafe then turn right into Derb Zawak and look up to see the Earth Cafe sign.
Reservations are not usually necessary but your Marrakech Riad staff will be happy to phone ahead for you, in any event you can be sure of a warm reception.
