Great news for travellers! easyJet will open its first African base in Marrakech in spring 2026. The airline will base three planes here, flying year-round. This move will make travel to Morocco easier, faster, and often cheaper.
easyJet will add new direct routes to Marrakech from Hamburg, Lille, and Strasbourg, starting in May 2026. A new route from Geneva to Tangier will also launch in March 2026.
With these flights, easyJet will connect five Moroccan cities — Marrakech, Agadir, Essaouira, Rabat, and Tangier — to 46 European destinations. This expansion means more choice, better prices, and simpler planning for your next trip.
The new base will create over 100 local jobs and help many more people working in tourism and hospitality. It also supports Morocco’s plan to welcome more international visitors in the next few years.
For travellers, this change means shorter journeys, more options, and lower fares. Whether you’re coming for a quick weekend or a long adventure, getting to Marrakech will soon be easier than ever.
At Marrakech Riad, we are excited to welcome even more guests. Our riads— Riad Star, Riad Cinnamon and Riad Spice —
offer comfort and charm just steps from the famous souks.
Plan your next Moroccan escape now. With easyJet’s new base, the Red City is waiting for you.
