Marrakech is becoming easier to reach from across Europe, with easyJet expanding its network to the Red City for winter 2026–27.
The airline has launched three new direct routes to Marrakech from Prague, Newcastle and Zurich, giving travellers even more options for a winter escape to Morocco.
For anyone planning a city break, long weekend or winter holiday in Marrakech, these new connections could make the journey considerably easier.
The new easyJet services will begin during October and November 2026:
The new Prague–Marrakech service starts on 25 October 2026 and will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays.
This is particularly interesting for travellers from the Czech Republic and surrounding regions who previously had fewer convenient direct options to Marrakech.
The Zurich–Marrakech route starts on 28 October 2026, with flights twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
For travellers in Switzerland, this adds another convenient direct connection to Marrakech and makes a short winter break particularly easy to organise.
The new Newcastle–Marrakech service begins on 3 November 2026, operating twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
The route is part of easyJet’s expansion at Newcastle Airport, which has become one of the airline’s growing UK bases.
For travellers in the North East of England, the new direct service means Marrakech can be reached without travelling to a larger airport in another part of the UK.
These new routes are part of a much bigger expansion by easyJet in Morocco.
In April 2026, easyJet launched its first-ever base in Africa at Marrakech, with three aircraft based at the airport. The airline says the base will support up to four million seats during its first year and has helped expand the number of destinations served from Marrakech.
Several existing Marrakech routes have also been extended into the winter season, including services to Lille, Strasbourg and Hamburg.
The airline now has a substantial network connecting Marrakech with European cities, making the destination increasingly accessible for short breaks as well as longer holidays.
For many visitors, winter is one of the best times to experience Marrakech.
The days are generally mild and sunny compared with northern Europe, while the Medina is much more comfortable to explore than during the hottest summer months.
Winter is also a particularly good time for:
And with direct flights operating twice a week on the new routes, travellers can build a Marrakech trip around the days that suit them rather than relying on complicated connections.
The expansion is particularly good news for travellers looking for a three- or four-night Marrakech break.
A direct flight combined with a traditional riad in the Medina makes it possible to arrive in Marrakech, settle into the atmosphere of the old city and start exploring almost immediately.
Staying in the Medina also puts visitors close to many of the experiences that make Marrakech special — the souks, historic palaces, museums, restaurants and Jemaa el-Fnaa.
With the new easyJet routes beginning from late October, now is a good time to start planning a Marrakech escape.
Flight schedules and fares can change, so it is worth checking the latest availability directly with easyJet before booking.
And once your flights are sorted, choosing the right riad can make a big difference to your Marrakech experience.
At Marrakech Riad, our three traditional riads — Riad Star, Riad Cinnamon and Riad Spice — offer different styles of accommodation in the heart of the Medina.
Whether you are visiting for a romantic weekend, a family holiday, a group trip or simply a few days of winter sunshine, we would be delighted to welcome you to Marrakech.
