London to Marrakech: More Flights, More Choice for Your Marrakech Escape

Marrakech has always been an easy escape from the UK. Now it is becoming easier still.

From the end of September 2026, British Airways is scheduled to operate a new daily service between London Heathrow and Marrakech. This adds yet another option for travellers coming to the Red City, alongside the many existing flights from London Gatwick, Luton, Stansted and Southend.

For anyone thinking about a few days in Marrakech this autumn or winter, that is good news.

More choice when you fly

One of the great things about travelling from London to Marrakech is the choice of airports and airlines.

With flights available from several London airports, you can choose the route that works best for you rather than trying to fit your Marrakech break around a limited flight schedule.

The new Heathrow service is particularly useful for travellers who live in or around central and west London, and the daily schedule also makes short breaks much easier to arrange.

Three nights in Marrakech? A long weekend? A spontaneous winter escape?

It is becoming remarkably easy.

Marrakech is closer than you think

The flight from London to Marrakech takes only around three and a half hours, so by the time you have had a film, a meal and a little sleep, you can be stepping out into the warm Marrakech sunshine.

And then comes the best bit.

Leave the airport behind and within about fifteen minutes you can be at the edge of the Medina, ready to disappear into the narrow streets, souks and courtyards of the old city.

Let us take care of the airport transfer

Arriving in Marrakech is exciting, but finding your way into the Medina with luggage for the first time can be a little confusing.

A taxi will meet you at the airport with your riad’s sign. It is about a fifteen-minute drive to the Medina entrance, where one of our Guardians will meet you and escort you through the streets to your riad.

It is a small thing, but it makes the beginning of your Marrakech holiday so much easier.

Stay in the heart of the Medina

Our three riads are all in the old town Medina, but each has its own character.

Riad Star is our brightest riad hotel, inspired by the Jazz Age and the story of Josephine Baker. It is a particularly good choice for families, groups and anyone who likes a little bit of theatricality.

Riad Cinnamon is a beautifully restored merchants’ house in a quiet residential part of the Medina, just two minutes from the Marrakech Museum and about ten minutes from the main square.

And Riad Spice is a sixteenth-century home next to the Ben Youssef Mosque, with a dipping pool and a wonderful roof terrace.

All three are small, personal riad hotels rather than large anonymous hotels. Our English-speaking team is on hand to help with restaurants, excursions, transfers and all those little questions that inevitably come up when you arrive in a new city.

A winter break in Marrakech

For many of our guests, the real attraction of Marrakech is simply being able to leave the British winter behind for a few days.

You can spend the morning wandering through the souks, stop for lunch on a rooftop, visit a palace or garden in the afternoon and finish the day with dinner beneath the stars.

The new Heathrow service is part of a wider increase in air connectivity to Marrakech, with new routes and additional services from across Europe.
